Thank Merlin, that's over.

Or almost at least. People still lingered, talking, eating what was left of the food, drinking what was left of the alcohol, generally just milling about until either Hermione declared it time to go home or people started passing out in spare rooms and on couches.

For the love of the gods, let Hermione start kicking people out.

In an effort to avoid any more socializing, Harry decided Dobby needed help cleaning up in the kitchen. Granted, Dobby was no where to be found, crowds still being something he was less than fond of, but still...Harry could get a head start. And there was nothing like deterring a conversation like implying you had to join in the cleaning in order to have it.

Harry picked at trays of mainly eaten food before levitating them into the large sink. Hermione had really gone all out, which considering how much of a wanker he knew he'd been lately, sent a small pang of guilt through him. He shrugged it off as a scrubbing brush came to life and started sudsing what had been a platter of pastries hours ago and was now just a platter of crumbs.

"She probably did it all for Neville anyhow."
