There is only one difference between a long life and a good dinner: that, in the dinner, the sweets come last. - Robert Louis Stevenson )
After dusting the last picture (a snapshot of the twins as small children) and putting it in its place, Parvati rushed to her tiny kitchen where several pots sat cooking on the stove. Batata vada and a delicious curry were the main course. The apartment was permeated by the strong smell of the pungent spices.
Just as Parvati finished setting the table, there was a knock. She knew it was her sister and opened the door.
"Padma!"

As she pulled away from her sister, Padma glanced around the flat slowly with a gentle smile. Obviously her sister had cleaned up more than a bit, and goodness, what was that delicious aroma in the air?
"The place looks great, Parvati. And the flat smells wonderful," Padma said, turning and grinning at her sister. "You always could manage better than I could at the fancy things."

The small round table in the kitchen was set with a bright orange tablecloth and brilliant yellow plates and napkins. Parvati thought the festive colors would remind her sister of home - they certainly brought back a lot of memories for her. And their mother's recipes would certainly help.
"Have a seat. There's some elderflower wine chilling in the fridge there. Have yourself a glass and relax." Parvati opened one silver pot and the pungent aroma of Indian spices teased her nostrils. Her stomach gave an involuntary growl as she stirred the curry.
"I'm actually glad you're here because I have something I want to talk to you about." Parvati's visit with Pansy yesterday was still fresh in her mind. "It's about Theo. And you."

Parvati set the dishes full of the steaming food on the table and sat down across from Padma, sipping her chilled wine. It felt refreshing after standing over the stove for the past few hours. Parvati served her sister some of everything and then started to fill her own plate.
The next part of the conversation had to be worded delicately. Parvati didn't want to startle Padma if this was new information.
"She and Theo are living together. Apparently."

That seriously couldn't be all that Parvati wished to talk to her about. Unless, of course, Pansy had decided to make it seem like more than it really was. Settling her glass down, Padma picked up her fork, "It all looks amazing, Parvati," She said, digging into the curry while waiting for her sister to continue with what she had to say.

"And," she said, almost exasperatedly. "And doesn't that bother you? Or are you and Theo over with?"
Parvati couldn't believe how dense her sister could be sometimes. Of course, then she remembered who she was dealing with here. Padma's number one interest had not always been the opposite sex. No, that was the other twin's department.

"She told me," Parvati continued when she swallowed some of the food. "She told me they were, well..." She didn't want to say 'fucking' to her sister. It just seemed weird.
"Physically intimate," she finished. God, that sounded even more awkward.

"Jesus Padma, I don't know Theo. He could be a sex maniac for all I know," she said, her voice raised. She almost wanted to slap her sister for laughing at her.
"You know," she said. "This is the first boy you've actually gotten anywhere with. And as your sister, I was trying to protect your best interests."
Padma could be so infuriating.

"I know, 'Vati. I know... I'm sorry," Padma said as her urge to laugh finally started to fade. "And I love you for it. But... Oh, Merlin. I really highly doubt that anything like that is going to be an issue."

"Anyroad," Parvati said, pouring more to drink. "How was work?"
