Ah, September!

It's my favorite month of the year! Cool temperatures, dry and sunny days (though rain hasn't been the problem this year), crisp nights, flannel shirts, Birkenstocks with socks, the smell of decaying leaves, taking the Metra to work... these are wonderful things! It's also the month I started dating, got engaged to, and married ottery, each in successive years. It's also the perfect month for bicycling around the neighborhood, though I have to remember to pump up the tires soon.

By the way, we share an anniversary date with some of our friends if reckoning by the Jewish calendar (the second day of Rosh Hashanah). This year, it's October 4th.

It will also be the month that we start the new radio show on WHPK. We're still in search of a title. We're still taking suggestions, but we did come up with a few that are based on tune names:

The Reel Thing (pun on a tune called "The Real Thing"... though this is a radio show, and probably no one would get it)
Atlantic Roar (a cool tune, and most Celtic-influenced cultures are reasonably close to the Atlantic)
Dancing on the Green (a dorky hornpipe, but a good title nonetheless)
The Thing Itself (probably refers to whiskey, but could also refer to great craic)
Beamish's Goat (? ottery likes this one)
Great Craic (something you say after a great session or when reminiscing about one)
Ceol agus Craic (often on signs above pubs in Ireland: loose translated "music and great times")

We want something that will represent Celtic-influenced music well and not be too Irish, so I think that rules out anything that makes a direct or indirect reference to Ireland. We're trying to avoid wispy Celtic names (e.g. Cry of the Celts, Celtic Breeze). We also want the title to have a bit of drive to it, so that it indicates you should be getting off your chair and grooving when you listen to the show.

So we need to come up with a title by Sept. 11, the premiere of the show. We could probably hold off on a theme song / tune for a couple of weeks. We could take suggestions for that. And no Freebird suggestions, please.
