Celebrated the end of yet ANOTHER brutal work week last night just a leeetle too much, fell asleep pretty much about 30 seconds before Miracle Day started and didn't wake up till about an hour and 1/2 later when they were playing it AGAIN, and my first thought was "Oh I know that music, that is SO Murray Gold!!!" :D
Everyone else has pretty much summed up my thoughts, which can be summarized as "OMFG I MISSED YOU ALL SO MUCH, DON'T EVER LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!" Jack, oh Jack! Even though he has Scary Plasticsurgery Face most of the time, there are moments when he would look away and smile all boyishly and I remembered Captain Motherfucking Jack Harkness as he was years ago before the Botox and the 8 trillion stupid realty TV shows, and it just warmed the cockles of my bitter, black heart I tell you what. Gwen, OH GWEN! AND RHYS! AND ANDY!!! *grabby hands and flailing squid arms* It's just SO DAMN GOOD TO SEE FAMILIAR FACES AGAIN from back in the Good Times and the Salad Days or whatever you want to call them. I was always sort of ambivalent about Captain Jack, but god, I haven't been that happy to see someone on my telly in a long time. And Gwen...I can't believe there was a time when I hated Gwen, she's just too beautifully badass for words. Walking towards that helicopter firing the gun with the baby in her arms? AWESOME. All I could think was that, with the way they got that baby giggling so adorably in that scene, that gun must have been making loud squeaky noises every time it fired to keep from scaring her. THAT BABY IS SERIOUSLY CUTE. MY OVARIES HAVE EXPLODED. "Yes I'm feeding her lard." Heeee!
What else, what else...Bill Pullman? SERIOUSLY EFFING CREEPY! I mean, having seen Lost Highway way back when, I knew he could do Creepy, but not like that! Sadly the only person who's leaving me a bit flat is Mekhi Phifer, which is a bummer 'cause I LOVED him in the new Dawn of the Dead, but his character's whole schtick, flailing around with his crutches and his steel-bar-punctures and his "OMG I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS BRIDGE" wore thin pretty quickly. I'm hoping he'll HEAL and get over it.
Speaking of healing...JAAAACK, NOOOOOOO! Jack being immortal was, like, the last tattered shred of what remained back here in our world of the Doctor and Rose's Epic Awesome Adventures together, don't you DARE make Jack MORTAL, RTD. *glares*
I don't really have an opinion about Esther yet, I'm just waiting for Claire Fisher Lauren Ambrose to show up!!!
Anyway, hope you all have a great Saturday. I'm scheduled for an hour and 1/2 long hot stone massage today at two!!! Here's hoping I don't fall asleep again like I did last time. *embarrassed*
