It happened.
Quicker than you thought -
Easier than you imagined -
But it still happened.
The end was still the same.
He was still dead,
gone.
It didn't matter,
in the end,
what you wanted.
It didn't matter about your past together,
the memories you had shared.
It didn't matter about what you'd taught him,
or what he had taught you.
It didn't matter that you had loved him.
The end was still the same.
Fate had already taken him away.
