Today had been one disappointment after another. First, his alarm hadn't gone off so he'd been late to work. Scully had asked if everything was okay. Then, he had spilled his egg drop soup on his tie at lunch. It was lucky he kept a spare in his car. Later that afternoon, he'd been called into a meeting with Skinner, where he got reamed out for not getting the paperwork for their last case in on time. After work, he invited Scully over for dinner and promptly burned it. She'd just smiled and said she'd rather have pizza anyway. Tomorrow had to be better, right? Yes, tomorrow would be better.
