Cordy smiled from the doorway of Angel's office. She was so glad to be home. And home for good. He didn't know it yet, but she'd struck a deal with the powers. In exchange for coming home and getting him back on his path to defeat the evil forces of Wolfram & Hart, the powers would make sure they both survived--and the moment it was over, they'd both be human again. No half demons, no vampires, just them. One day soon, they'd get that happily ever after. They'd get their chance at a normal life. She couldn't wait to walk in the sunshine with the man that she loved. But for now? It was enough to know she would have that. Someday.
Looking at him now, he looked calm, content. She couldn't remember a time when he'd ever been so at peace with himself. "You ready?" she finally asked.
Angel turned and nodded. Coming to stand beside her, he gently lowered his lips to hers. It started out sweet, but soon turned into something so much more. It was a kiss that showed them both how much they were loved. When they pulled apart, he took her hand in his with a tender smile. "Let's go."
