For a slight slip of a girl, Terra could eat her weight in fish and chips, Edgar noted to himself silently. It was little wonder-Terra barely finished half of her plate at Figaro Castle, and from what Locke told the king, she had next to nothing to eat in Narshe.

Yet, as the trio sat at a table in the pub in South Figaro, Terra devoured her lunch like it was the last of the fish in the world.

"You could whip my brother in an eating contest," Edgar tried his best at humor. No one laughed. Terra seemed like a lovely girl, but Locke and Edgar could not help but feel a bit uneasy in her presence. Less than an hour before, the two men witnessed something Locke had only heard about in his grandma’s fairy tales-magic. Terra came equipped with enough of the stuff to take out two 2-ton Magitek armored guards.

"Well," Locke wiped his face quickly with his napkin, "I guess all that firepower stirs up a big appetite, right, Terra?" He smiled gently, but Terra dropped her fork and sank into her chair.

Locke slid from his chair, and knelt by Terra’s seat, "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. I guess I’m still getting used to the whole idea of real magic."

"Me, too," Edgar added, "It really is an amazing gift you have."

"But that strange man," Terra referred to Kefka, who tried to smoke her out of Figaro Castle, "wants to take me away because of my ‘gift.’ I feel like I’m putting you both in harm’s way."

Locke made a dismissive ‘pbbt’ noise, "Nonsense! I’m an adventurer! I love danger, and I’m sure Edgar would cross Figaro Desert barefoot to protect you. Right, Edgar?"

"Absolutely," Edgar said, rising from his chair.

Terra happily popped the last morsel of fish into her mouth, "Right, shall we get going then?"
