Summary: Sawyer doesn't fool himself into believing that either of them are good people.
They don't pretend like they're good people. When they kiss, when they fuck, Sawyer knows that there's a black mark on Jin's soul, just like on his own. Dirty fingerprints and specks of mud… Stains that ain't ever gonna be washed away.
He never asks about it. It's none of his business and Jin's allowed a secret or two. They've got nothing else left to own on this island.
Jin's head rests on his chest as he sleeps, a heavier weight than Kate ever was. Sawyer's arm curls tentatively around his shoulders, fingers playing with the curls of jet black hair at the back of his head. Sleeping, Jin doesn't look dangerous at all. His body is slim - but far from fragile and certainly not breakable.
If Sawyer wants to, he could imagine the blood beneath Jin's fingernails and on his fists, knuckles still raw. He could try and picture whose lives Jin has taken over the years - 'cause he's sure as hell that Jin's a killer. Just like him. Just like Kate. Takes one to know one.
They're bad boys, both of 'em. Not the kinda guy you'd take home to meet your Momma.
Sawyer kisses the top of Jin's forehead, lost in thought instead of lost in sleep, and looks up at the ceiling above them: he hopes that even bad boys deserve a second chance.
