“Let’s say you were a girl,” Adam mumbled, pacing around his shed.

Grace watched him, sitting on the sofa in the corner. “Thank you?”

He shook his head. “You know what I mean.”

“Not really.”

“You know just... a girl.” He shrugged slightly and scratched the back of his head. “Would you go out with me?”

“If I was a girl?”

He nodded slightly.

“No.”

“Why not?” he asked, his face falling a little.

“Because you’re Rove.”

He rolled his eyes. “Say I wasn’t me then.”

“Ok, if you aren’t you, who am I? Other than a girl?”

He shrugged.

“Girardi?” she guessed.

He looked at her silently then slowly nodded. “I kinda... think I have a crush on her.”

“A crush? Dude, more like you’re in love with her.”

His eyes widened. “How do-”

“It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what causes all that drool in Chem.” She shrugged. “Only a girl.”
