“What’d you do now?” he asked.
“I skipped class. He threatened to expel me.”
“Grace, we’ve only been in high school for a month. You can’t get expelled already.”
She smiled and shook her head. “Don’t worry, dude. He won’t kick me out. Besides, you’re the one who’s in here every day. What’d you do?”
“Mr. Rove,” Price called before Adam had a chance to answer.
He stood up, slinging his book bag over his shoulder. “Urine test,” he mumbled as he walked over to the vice principal.
