I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia two weeks ago. Finally, a name for my pain! I have been researching it intensively since. I am quite shocked to find that some of the 'establishment' does not even believe in it?

I was prescribed Gabapentin for nighttime, and vicodin (1) as needed. The nighttime change has been tremendous. I'm actually sleeping almost all the way through the night.

Believing very much in alternative medicine (long history with doctors has created deep mistrust), I was hesitant to take the meds, but the results have been worth it.

In the research, I found an interesting article that gives me some arsenal to fight with. As a yoga teacher and practitioner, I was happy to see that "stretching" was considered essential. Super SLOW stretching (which I don't do, but I sure will now!). Not just slow, but slow, while being warm. Warmth is important. Of course, I agree, since I have Raynauds. Cold hurts!

I have very low blood pressure (80's/50's - 60's), Major Depressive Disorder (under control by yoga practice), and a whole slew of issues that I won't bore anyone with.

Reading all the posts, I am relieved that I am not alone, and that every person here understands the variety of issues. I am also saddened that so many have so much pain.

Blessing to all ^_^
