meningitis
Wanted to take a poll. It has come up in several people's entries here.
How many of you/us have had meningitis?
What kind?
How old were you?
I think it is very curious to see how many fibrites have had meningitis! I had never in my life met anyone else who had it, but it seem that there are so many people here who have. I was 5 months old when my mother came home from work, yelling at the babysitter for letting her extremely fair-skinned child out in the sun. Poor babysitter was in tears because she hadnt had me in the sun. I was beat red! Mom took my temp. 105*. Rushed to the pediatrician, who called the hospital, who set up a quarantine to let get me into the hospital. My parents were prepared at least twice, by the doctor, that I was going to die. They even called in their priest. 33 years later, I'm still here. Here with lung problems (not made better by being a smoker), fibromyalgia with CFS, allergies to everything, lactose intolerance, PCOS, S.A.D., hearing lose from chronic ear infections and ear drum bursts, and carpal tunnel syndrome (along with all the things yet to diagnose!).
