We just moved into our new apartment this month. We love it here. So far there has been only one issue, the downstairs neighbors. 2 gay bois who are extremely loud and RUDE as FUCK

As much as I and you both hate involving managers, this is a case that managers need to hear about. Of course the gay boys will come back and say that you guys are loud too but let the management know that you guys are quiet on "night" hours and that the gay bois aren't, your are trying to be polite, and they aren't.
I have gay neighbors too, but these guys are hella cool instead, which is nice. They have fought in the past, at 2 in the morning, but its rare and I let it go. They have been loud in the mornings (not having sex) and I've asked them to quiet down and they apologized and did so. Your situation sucks, hope it resolves itself.
Thus another reason I LOVE the east side. Hey, its not hip, its not "cool" but ya know, I don't have to deal with that bullshit. My life is convenient, easy-going, RELAXING and I get sleep at night. If I'm goona pay out my ASS for an apartment, it had better be good. If your hearing your neighbor's that easily, then OBVIOUSLY the quality of the building is much lower than my apartment complex. My apt is cheaper and lower quality than almost ALL others around here and thus, the rent is really low. Your rent is $500 over what a 1 bedroom would be at my complex and I personally would NOT be happy living in my complex for any length of time (I'm happy to be leaving) so I would NEVER pay more than that to live in a worse place on cap hill.
East side has MANY things that prove its worth. Amenities, peace, convenience to work, sleep at night, thick walls, warm apartments and beautiful scenary. I don't see WHAT cap hill has over that.....

Our new place is awesome. it's over 1000 sq ft (you can't get a 1 bdrm at that size for $500 less than what we're paying on the eastside- plus we have a garage). It is old, but it has been taken care of. The only negative so far, as I stated, has been the downstairs neighbors. Every other person we've met has been great. It's a different group of ppl. Much more interesting.
As for Eastside apartments, our last place was just as bad. I had to deal with noisy neighbors, cause we could hear them etc etc. Mol and I even had the cops called on us one night and you know how out of control we are. You've just had good luck apparently. Also, being on Cap hill, there is so much to do and it's pretty much right out the door. We have a great view... blah blah.
so, We're happy with the place. Not so happy with the noisy neighbors, which could happen no matter where you are.
We were stuck in a rut and being on the Eastside was part of that. This is a new fun experience for us.

1000 sq ft is a deal yes, but even then a 2 bedroom out here is about that same price and at my apartment complex it runs about $800 tops, still way below your rent. However, I LOVE ammenities. I have a pool, hot tub and a workout facility (Jean does too) and those are MORE than worth living over here for. Also, we don't have a garage however, we don't have to pay for convenient parking, which is good. I'm not really looking to have something to do just out the door. I see the benefit but what I tend to like to do is come home, relax, play some video games and work on my PC. :-P
I don't really blame ya for wanting to be around other forms of entertainment, those things are nice too.
