Yesterday I really got off to a rough start. First off I was jealous that Paul didn't have to work and I did. I told him it must be nice to be a real teacher and actually get days off. He said yes, it is. So I was all dressed in my black pants and new shoes that are acually comfortable and my green sweater and I was feeling nice. So I went to put on my mascara and dropped my glasses on the floor. I stepped back to turn around and pick them up and yeah, I stepped right on them and broke them. I was sooo freaking out and trying to superglue them back together, but no luck. I stuck my contacts in my eyes for the first time in about 6 months and my eyes were not happy about it at all. It was kinda cute at work though because my students were all saying "Miss Alison looks different today!" Oh, and our letter of the week is G, too. Then when Jay came in he said "Oh my God, you look so nice today without your glasses! And that green sweater really brings out your eyes! You look great today!" I think I blushed. Then today he said "Oh, Alison, if I was straight..." He is so funny!
So while I was at work, Paul went on an expedition to Wize Eyes to see about getting my glasses fixed. His mom told him to just go down Sunrise Highway, so it took him 2 hours to find the place... Just like when we went the first time. If she had just told him it was by Ikea, he would have been there in half an hour. Anyway, he got me my new frames to replace them for only $20. We hadn't got the insurance or whatever on them so it should have been $150, but they were just like "Oh, we'll pretend you had it and give them to you for $20." I was very grateful. So I now have my glasses and can go back to the low-maintenence thing again. But maybe tomorrow I'll wear my contacts because everyone who wasn't here on Monday wants to see me without them.
So... What else is new? We're having the book fair at work this week, and I'm getting a ring making kit with all the beads and everything. I'm excited! And I'm getting Dana a new Dora book. Dana is pretty much over her cold, and we are all glad. She gets pretty grumpy when she has a cold. She wore her little Jets outfit on Sunday and if you spell Jets she'll yell "Jets! Jets! Jets!!!" It's just about the cutest thing! Last night I let her sleep in bed with me because I was really really really tired, seriously I was ready to sleep at 8:15, but I wanted to wait until it was at least Dana's bedtime, so we went to bed at 9. It was so good to sleep, but I wanted to play some games with Paul. Today he flipped out because I told him I have never even seen Paper Mario. So I think I'll be seeing it tomorrow. I'd also like to play Donkey Konga again because I had such a good time on Sunday. Anyway, I think I need to shower or something even though I don't feel like it. I think I'll go quick at the next commercial break so I don't miss anything... as though I'm paying attention to it anyway, but it's a perfect game so far for the Yankees. I'll fall asleep though, I'm sure.
