Author's Note: It's been a while, hasn't it? :) Glad to be back.

You have always known you felt something a little different than the others around you, however, the draw of the pebbles with glittering stars in them had selfishly gobbled up your attention. There was a shyness interwoven alongside it as well, though your outside eggshell was cracking with the sheer exuberance you displayed, and you never got around to examining these feelings until the dust had settled; that one wing ripped away by a cloud.

When you poked and prodded these desires you weren't adverse to the feelings that arose; you felt sure this was a part of yourself that had always been there, nestled and waiting until you stroked it into life. Yet you were unsure how to go about unfurling this electric charged ball that you had within yourself.

The men couldn't help, they seemed more immature than you when that subject came up, Tifa was too obsessed with Cloud to barely notice anyone else and your mother was long gone to counsel you.

That was why, when you lay upon your bed with a hand on your stomach, you thought of her. The one who smiled as sweetly and surely as the flowers in her church. She would have accepted you, perhaps touched her lips to yours if more time had been gifted to the two of you.

Your fingers inched under the hem of your shorts; it was as slow as a creeper that was searching for the next place to cling to. You're unsure over what to do, caution causes you to fumble and guess, and then you think of her lovely voice, always gentle, like the summer wind on your skin, and certainty descends.

Afterwards, joy sparks with the pleasure, but tears streak down; for you know she is not there besides you. The loneliness drips away a few times when you forget, mind and hand on other things, and in brief moments it's as if someone holding you.

That is why you visit her church and water the flowers, sometimes with tears from regret, and it is only on the fourth day you come here that your mobile breaks your silence.

"Yuffie..."

The voice on the other end is distant, a breath upon the grass, and when you close your eyes you feel it blowing against your cheek; you already know who it is.

"Aerith..."

One of the flowers by your feet blossoms.
