There was a part of her that wondered if she’d made the right choice. It was the part that was woken up in the middle of the night by a ringing PHS and the rustling of clothes before it heard the door close silently. It was the part that remembered the meaning of that uniform and the sins that had been committed by those who’d worn it.
Tifa didn’t listen to that part of herself very often, not when the PHS and rustling was followed by an affectionate kiss. Not when she had taught herself to see beyond the uniform.

“I know.” Tseng replied, eyes sparkling. “It’s a good idea.”
“Bringing a former terrorist into our base so that she can spar against her own lover? A lover who’s not allowed to have relations outside Shinra.” Reno’s grin did not vanish but grew wider. “Things sure have changed around here.”
“Elena’s professional.” The dark haired man smiled. “She needs an opponent worthy of her talent. Miss Lockheart is, indeed, a worthy opponent. Excellent defence.”
“Yep.” He laughed. “Plus, many dream of seeing something like this.”
“A shame it’s wasted on us then.”
