FFVII: Cloud/Yuffie, Courtesy, PGastrangerentersFebruary 15 2010, 20:11:21 UTC
There was an irritating tapping on his forehead, and even though Cloud didn’t like spending a lot of time asleep (because he didn’t really want to dream), he was as comfortable as one could be in a crowded tent on a chilly night

FFX, Isaaru/Yuna, GowlmooseFebruary 17 2010, 07:37:35 UTC
There had been a commotion in the village that morning, but Yuna, only half awake at the time, didn't realize the cause until she came out of her tent to see an unexpected figure standing on the steps of Besaid temple: Isaaru, looking strangely small in civilian clothes. Three years past the final defeat of Sin and the Sending of the aeons, and Yuna had never seen him out of his Summoner's robes, until today. His shoulders were stiff, and his auburn hair ruffled in the breeze

FFVIII- Squall/Ellone, "Pieces Collide", PGkatmilliaFebruary 15 2010, 20:17:14 UTC
He thinks it should be easy- but then again, it wasn't before, was it? None of it was, not a bit, not even locating his own past sheltered between slowly spinning blades of the windmill. And she's lost, gone past white sails, and he doesn't know where to find her

FFX, Jecht/Jecht's wife, GowlmooseFebruary 15 2010, 14:56:27 UTC
She gets up before dawn as she always does, to cook him breakfast before his daily training swim. He's never asked her to do this for him, nor has he ever thanked her for it beyond a few quick words as he runs out the door. But that's all right, she thinks as she flips the eggs, sizzling in their heavy pan. She knows how much it means to him

Ah, the calm before the storm? This was great.
Man, you know what? I'd love to see you write more Jecht.
I think your style really suits him -- it's earthy, vivid and real. I know I always use those adjectives in reference to your writing, but seriously. I'd love to see more of the J-dawg from you.

"the calm before the storm"
That was the intent anyway. Although if one prefers, it could be just a day in the life...
Glad you enjoyed! Interesting thought re. writing Jecht. Much like Gippal and other trickster characters, I enjoy writing him but don't do so often. I shall have to think on this.
FFXII: Larsa/Penelo, The Future, GastrangerentersFebruary 15 2010, 15:01:33 UTC
No amount of royal training can keep someone from getting tired, Penelo muses as they finally make camp for the night. Ozmone is quieter in the evening, and the snakes and other creatures burrow away for warmth once the sun disappears. Larsa’s spent much of his life sequestered, she figures. Not much opportunity for exploring with tutors and nursemaids and nannies to mind him every waking moment. He probably has a grand room in Archades with a bed full of fluffy pillows, but here on the plains he has a rock for a pillow and a threadbare blanket (one of their nicer ones, though, on account of him being their high-born hostage

This is awesome as well as adorable. What a perfect moment between them; I love how Penelo sees him here. The little dig at Vaan's cluelessness I also love. ;) Thanks so much for this!!

It's so hard to write Larsa/Penelo in-game without it coming off a little forced/creepy, yet so obviously something that might happen someday. This is a lovely portrait of the gentle dance between these two.
