Thanks for commenting. I think I must friend you because I see you over at Chlare's, too.
I am a sucker for angsty -- but there has to be a reason in my head why Jayne and Mal eventually get together. Although schmoop I just can't see. Angry rutting, yes. Pet names, no.

Hee hee :P Thanks. gadzuks made a lot of cool "The Mummy" icons. I couldn't resist that one (or the "Librarian" one) :)

I love them because they're human, they're fallible, they do things we don't like -- that's what makes them great characters. I think in the next one, however, Mal will do something to prove that he really does like Jayne and needs him on board. 'Cause you know... he's been so tough on Jayne lately!
Thanks for commenting - love your Rodney icon - that's my other fandom!

Very hot that Jayne came first and didn't even know he wanted it, mmm. Not yet leaves hope for later!
Did you enjoy the movie?

I was wondering where you went there for a while. The Internets get broken sometimes too! Just like our boys.
I'm waiting for YOU to write more - that prison thingy was GUH and wonderful.
I'm planning a third part for this fic and doing tiny rewrites on this one and "Busted" to make them all fit together into a *cough* triptych? Or triad or something.
I LOVED the gorram movie and saw it twice. Needs must write Mal/Jayne post-Serenity also. It's on my list!

Indeed, it has been good to get hooked up once again with the fandom. I do have a rather daunting 8-pt. epic thing planned, but I just don't know how to get started. The brunt of it is that post-Serenity, Mal and Jayne are sold (by Saffron, probably) on a planet that is hosting a huge gladiator-style event. You can sort of guess where it goes.
But happily your own project sounds more tackle-able and therefore will soon be enjoyed, I hope!
I need to see the movie again but I think I will indulge in another Firefly marathon, before. Wasn't it great? At a party the other night a whole group of guys were saying they expected Jayne to have died, and I realized I hadn't even considered it. Thank god I wasn't surprised by such a thing!
Not that the loss of Wash isn't sad.

Oh, and Book. ;)

(I found your story on shinny_hats, a M/J journal. There is a list of all 44 (sadly small #) M/J fictions there. You are one of only 15 writers who have given the ship a try.)
I'm in a bit of a panic that you might not add another chapter because I've been really sucked in. I have to sympathize with Jayne here.
I'm also wondering how you will handle River's powers. Can she see THE future or one possible future? I'm hoping that it will be the latter.

I haven't actually given up at all on this fic or this ship. This fic was a one-off for the ff_friday challenge, as was "Busted."
Then, I started to see how they might be part of the same story and I have been meaning to write a third part for some time now. I'm easily distracted, however.
I'm struck by how small the number of fics are, but I think it will grow. Definitely! My version of them ain't pretty, but there's a lot of images that are in my head that will hopefully pan out to a third fic in this story and then maybe even more.
Thanks for commenting - it means a lot in this tiny corner of fandom!
