Well two updates in one day isn't this amazing? On two completely different topics though so i hope you don't mind.

I've talked some before about my original writing. I think I've said that's mostly what I write (even though there isn't much written yet) and I hate it when I get stuck on something. I posted the first part of one of them a while ago and now I have to go back and re-write the whole thing. This is why I don't normally post things before they are completely finished. They change too much. It's not that I mind re-writing it, I'm actually quite happy about it because it just didn't feel right before. I was having a hard time focusing on all three boys and there was one thing that just wasn't working out. Now that I have that fact worked out (to an extent) the whole thing just makes more sense and flows better. Not that anyone knows that except me since it's all still in my head, but that's okay. That one fact (that no one else knows about but me yet) getting cleared up has made everything better. I know I'm being vague here, but you have no idea how many things that worked out.

My problem with the story now is one of the characters. Evan just isn't working. I've tried changing his name but I can't find one that fits him. Evan doesn't even fit him really, but it's the best I have for now. I've tried switching around names but that hasn't helped either. I'm not even sure on Ethan's name either. It fits him better than Evan, but it still doesn't feel quite right. The only one who doesn't have a problem is Bren. He's staying Bren because his name fits him perfectly. It's kind of ironic because I have another Bryn, but his name is spelled differently. You would think if there was one name I would want to change it would be his so that I don't have two of the same name, but that one letter difference makes them completely different to me. And besides just getting their names right, I have to find names that all fit together. I tried changing Evan's name to Will and keeping Ethan but the three names didn't all go together then. It's not the flow of the names at all, it's the way the personalities attached to those names flow. I'm probably not making sense here but to me it does make sense. I have a basic characterization for everyone, but the name makes up half of who they are. If I can't get these names right then I can't write this story. I'm at a loss for what to do with Evan and Ethan (and I also don't like having two characters whose names start with the same letter).

Since I'm having such a problem with those two I think I'm going to work on Matti and Bryn's story. Of course that also comes with its own set of problems. While I have the most background for that story (gov't and all that) I have the least plot. I truly don't know where it's going or what the focus of it is.

Then we move on to Aiden and Stef. I haven't looked at them at all since I changed Jem's name to Aiden and I don't know how it is going to affect the story. This story is the first one I started and the one I know most about the plot and focus but I have no background really. I have background for the characters, but not the place that they live. I'm actually thinking about having Stef and Aiden in the same place as Matti and Bryn. Their stories wouldn't be alike at all, but the environment that I need for both is the same. Matti and Bryn's focuses on political happenings and how they're involved with that while Stef and Aiden have more of a personal focus.

I know a lot of this is just rambling so please forgive me. I'm trying to get my thoughts into some semblance of organization.
