Whilst watching a show about minotaurs...

Which is kind of an odd thing to focus a show on, I guess, but that's the History Channel for you! Or, well, Theseus vs. the Minotaur to be precise, which makes a bit more sense, but is less fun when broken down to a basic Athens vs. Crete showdown.

Facts. They really take the glamour out of myth.

Narrator: Evidence shows that the inhabitants of Crete were engaging not only in ritual sacrifice, but in cannibalism.

Me: Hah!

Mother: Hrm.

Narrator: Adolescent bones were discovered alongside adult and sheep bones, all bearing marks similar to those found on animals butchered for feasts. [ect ect omnomnomect]

Mother: That's terrible! They were eating kids!

Me: [after a moment's consideration] ....I don't know. It's kind of like eating veal.

Mother: No, sweetie. No, it's not. Someday I hope you'll finally realize that.

She said that in the tone of one who does not truly believe their own words but is willing to simultaneously hope and blame the medication.

....

Ten minutes later, in a childish voice, I weakly called out 'Moo?'
