Dunno how many of yoy watch it...buuuuut.......
So I watched the Doctor Who season finale yesterday. There was some sniffling. Okay, lots of sniffling and hasty eye-wiping because I am such a complete sap about these things. Gah. I know. But I'm not actually sure how much I liked the episode.
I always feel like DW season finales are kind of rushed. I would have liked to have seen bigger reunion moments between every one. Or most of them, cause there was a lot of 'heeeey, haven't seen YOU in a season or two!'.
10/Rose moments make me ever so happy. I feel like Rose is a character I shouldn't love so obsessively, because she does do a bit of the Mary-Sue 'Doctor RUVS ONLY MEEEEE' which can be annoying. But I love them. They fit. They work. Somehow. Even if she didn't really DO anything, except make the Doctor very very happy. Which is perfectly fine.
AND she was the one Companion who wasn't jumping at the chance to commit mass murder. I think Rose, for whatever reason, 'gets' the Doctor so much better than the others. Maybe because she was with him for so long, straight through, watching him change. The others are all soldiers now, saluting him even though he HATES that, and fighting for him but not with him while she just wants to run about with him and save things and smile. She would have stayed with him for the rest of her life.
And she winds up EXACTLY where they left off because RTD is DUMB. Only, now, she has her very own 'one-life' Doctor who can do all the normal everyday life with her. With half of what she wanted.
Donna was awesome. DoctorDonna was awesome. She deserved a lot more. So much more. Poor Donna.
Poor Doctor. There's this big 'you are not alone!' theme....and then in the end he IS alone. Completely. With the saddest look on his face ever. No silly ending. Just the Doctor and the Tardis, on their own sad adventure. Because everyone else was so eager to leave and the two who would have stayed couldn't.
And this is why I can't look at the Ten and his companions without my brain screaming 'PETER PAN! SOME INSIDE-OUT DISTORTED PETER PAN!'. The allusions are obviously there. Only where Peter forgets in time, the Doctor can't. And I can blabber on forever about this so I'll stop.
Lack of Master made me sad. But apperantly big blinging Rings are the new Time Lordish accessory. Except for the Doctor. His is just pure sorrow.
In conclusion, GIVE A TIME LORD A BREAK.
Gawd, I can't wait for the Moffet-only series.
AND YAAAAAAY WALL-E! CUTEST BESTEST MOVIE EVER. Wall-E and Eve are the best pairing ever. I want to work for Pixar. They are truly made of awesome and imagination.
