BILLIONAIRE IN CAR ACCIDENT WITH FORMER METROPOLIS SOCIETY QUEEN

May 6, 2009

Yesterday afternoon, a relatively calm day in downtown Metropolis was disturbed when a by towncar driven billionaire Lionel Luthor slammed directly into a black SUV on the corner of State and Lake. While both Luthor and the driver of the SUV escaped with minor bumps and bruises, the former's passenger, the city's own Martha Kent, was last seen unconscious upon being hoisted into the ambulance.

Kent, formerly Martha Clark, daughter of the infamous corporate law shark William Clark, was reportedly en route to a lunch meeting with Luthorcorp's esteemed CEO, also her current business partner. Kent was recently appointed director of the new SAJ Wayside House in Metropolis, owned and operated by Jean-Paul Beaubier and John Allerdyce, and funded largely in part by Luthor himself. Kent, the wife of Smallville farmer Jonathan Kent and mother of Planet reporter Clark Kent, is also the parent of a four-month-old child.

Lionel Luthor declined to comment, but unnamed sources at Metropolis General confirm that Kent is expected to make a full recovery from injuries sustained in the accident once she comes to. No word yet on the details of the accident itself, or who was at fault.
