HAY GUIZ
So, I been done with Rex Splode: The Book: Invincabel prasents Atom Eve: And Rex Splode: Origins for a while now, and stuff has calmed down a little, so I scanned up a collection of some of the scrap paper doodles I've done while working on the book. Lots of Batmen garbage, some non-spoiler Rex stuff, and OTHER crazy shit.
I've been working on a few new projects and I will have sneaky peaky sketches for that stuff coming soon, because I am excited as hell and I want everyone else to be excited as hell too!
But onto the old, better late than never, stuff!
That was some doodles from the plane ride back from San Diego when I was all hopped up on inspiration, but before I got terribly, terribly, terribly depressed. I actually fell asleep drawing in mid-line too, that was funny. Then Cory drew dicks on my page I'm pretty sure.
Here is just some randomy garbage. Trying to get into the swing of drawing one of the stories I was thinking of picking up on after Rex. Needs to go back in the oven.
Here is a page of doodles I did after re-reading Katsuya Terada's Monkey King book. That guy is good at drawing monsters and bug people and titties, and all three at the same time! Just straight up, unabashed aping right here folks. I wish I could do what he do.
Here's a page of sketches for the cover of Rex Splode #1.
And here's some duudles and some panel thumbnails for Rex uh... 3?
A Rex and some Tick. If I drew Tick for serious I'd probably just make him look like Parlov's Barracuda as much as possible.
Now Tick and Joker! Hey, I know Joker, he's that one guy.
More Joker guy, a little older though. The posh looking dame is an idea for Catwoman. She'd be a thief that poses as a socialite, obsessed with stealing cat sculptures and jewelery and the like, dresses with an Egyptian theme (cats!).
This Joker doesn't have venom or anything like that, he'd just leave his calling card with more knifey means. By knife.
More Joker. Playing with the idea of consolidating the cut up look with the classic face. Esp. the eyes.
Batmen! He is tricky to nail down. I know I like the high-collar thing though, even though it doesn't make a lot of sense.
I think there are some Bruce Waynes in here, but I don't know who those dudes at the top are though. NOBODY.
Here's some other villain attempts.
Well hay there, it's Doctor Harleen Quinzel!
Ain't she purty. I have another sketch of her around that I did a long ass time ago that I'll try to find, I like it quite a bit.
Maybe you would recognize this lady, but if not, it is YT, the kick-ass 15-year-old RadiKS Kourier from Best Novel Ever, Snow Crash. I have never seen anywhere on the internet (and I've looked quite a bit) someone draw her correctly (as described, to some length, in the book). Everyone always tries to sex her up or make her look more Mountain Dew or something and it always annoys me, so I did this (tiny) drawing of her to get it in my mind to do a proper version some day.
Here's an illustration I recently did for mc chris to announce his new album, which I will be back on for cover dudies. I'll be cranking out a lot of stuff for him soon, what with the not having to draw a comic except whenever I want. (everything by me except the text)
That's all for now, folks!
...well.
Okay. SHHH. Don't tell anyone!
OMG SUPER SECRET character sketch from forthcoming Benito & Nate comic, wowzers!
