Sandwich or no sandwich? That is the question.

I've been eating junk all day. Damn holiday! Mmm...chocolate truffles....

Today was great! Sam came over at 9:30 and we all had breakfast and then opened presents! I was afraid of what Sam would think of the knife I got him. Last Place on Earth has some really cool switchblades, and I thought maybe it was something Sam could use for whatever. But then, when I showed it to Dad before wrapping it, he criticized. He's always criticizing. Love the man to death, but give me a break! He told me a story about a student who used to be in his school. This kid had a knife in his pocket and got into a fight with another guy one day, and so he stabbed the guy, killing him. And Dad was like, "And I always wonder, if he didn't have that knife...." And he went on to say that the student probably would have only punched the other guy and that's it. But I just rolled my eyes and asked Dad if he actually thought Sam was a violent guy. Oy. So, anyway, long story short, Sam liked the knife. It came in handy for opening other presents.

Mom gave me some nice slippers. I don't use slippers much, but I should. My poor abused feet. :( She also gave me a color ink cartridge for my printer (I can finally print again!) and a book that I've been enjoying paging through. The book's called Live From New York. It's "An uncensored history of Saturday Night Live as told by its stars, writers, and guests."

And boy is it ever uncensored! Excerpt from former cast member Laraine Newman: "Gilda and I would hang out at her house and I would be snorting heroin and she would be eating a gallon of ice cream. And I remember her staggering to the bathroom to make herself throw up, and saying, 'I'm so full, I can't hear.'"

Dad gave me a DVD of "Damn Yankees." He bought it on a whim, after he and I had briefly discussed it on the way to the mall in Duluth. He started singing that Lola song. I don't know the title, but the words go "Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets," etc. It's been in commercials. He told me where that song was from, and I was surprised to hear it came from "Damn Yankees." And then I realized that I didn't know anything about that movie, so Dad started telling me about it. My Uncle Mike was in a small theatre production of it once, but I had to miss it. :( So, now I can see what it's all about and hear the song in its original context.

Mom and Dad both got me a huge mirror for my wall and a new chair to put in front of my computer! I was so happy about the chair! Did you know that I had been sitting on a metal folding chair? And with the long periods of time that I spend on the computer, boy does my butt hurt in that chair! This new chair is cushioned. :)

Sam gave me Scene It, the movie trivia game. I love that game! Putting trivia games on DVD was a genius idea!

Mom loved the sheepskin slippers I got her, and Dad is really enjoying his digital camera. Yay! What a great Christmas!

Sid and Zak came over later and we exchanged some more presents. Zak got me some colored pencils. That was nice of him! Sid brought "a basket of sugar" for the whole family. Hehe, those were her words. It was a basket filled with more delectable treats that our bodies didn't need, but they sure were good!

My Carmy called me from Connecticut to wish me a Merry Christmas! Awwww. :) I miss my Carmy.

Vanessa stopped by tonight and dropped off a few presents. I hadn't seen her in what feels like ages. I sent some Christmas cookies with her when she left.

I laced up my boots and one pair of shoes with my new cool shoelaces. I let Sid have the old laces because she said she needed some. My boots and shoes look way rad now! :)

I wish Chuck was online. :( I haven't talked to him in two days now. I hope he had a good Christmas too. Maybe he's out celebrating somewhere tonight with his brother and sister or something. Who knows?
