Review - Spn ep.15/16 because I've been lazy and need to catch up...

Mar 20, 2014 22:14

So my cat is snoring next to me and I've dived into my emergency stash of mini-chocolate bars - yet again - so it seems like an appropriate time to focus on the positive: ep. 16 Blade Runners (which I totally forgive them for ripping off the title of one of my favourite movies because this episode was (finally) FANTASTIC!)
[Spoiler (click to open)]So much to love:
  • a Dean-focused storyline!!!! (can't say enough about that!)
  • funny that Dean was 'not Moose'
  • Dean's facial expression when Crowley talked about him not knowing what it felt like to feel human made me laugh
  • Jensen's great acting when he had the knife and appeared to be fighting it
  • Sam actually appearing to care
  • Dean being upset about his car being 'demonized' and rubbing at the scratch with his thumb
  • Mark Sheppard doing such a great job playing Crowley!  Deliciously untrustworthy :)
  • It's Major Lorne, no it's Andy, no it's Cuthbert Sinclair lol!
The interesting and meh:
  • Snooki wasn't as bad as I thought she would be, and, boy, is she tiny!
  • is it just me, or is that crossroads rather familiar? I'm pretty sure they've used it a few times and was the one from the dancing meme
  • the boys really should have known what the latin meant on the box, and Crowley shouldn't have needed to translate (I am so nitpicky!)
  • Cuthbert's place was like Bobby's on steroids with all the supernatural collectibles and they just left it all behind??!!!

This has got to be one of the strongest episodes this season, and I loved it!

And now onwards and backwards to ep. 15 Thinman!

[Spoiler (click to open)]Liked last week's ep because the Facers ep's were some of my fave's, but, really, did they need to use a sledgehammer approach to tie the Ghostfacers and Sam and Dean's story-lines together? - which I totally don't agree with, btw.  Sam was unconscious when he was dying; it wasn't like Dean could ask him if he wanted to live, and Sam himself had said when he took on the trials that he did so because he could see the 'light at the end of the tunnel' unlike Dean, so why would Dean have guessed otherwise? Therefore: Dean wasn't saving Sam strictly so he wouldn't be alone, unlike Ed with Harry who, though with the best of intentions, was taking the choice away from his friend that was in his own personal best interest.

And on a totally unrelated note: when is spring going to finally friggin' get here!!! *growls at snow still piled up outside and eats another chocolate bar*
