(no subject)
list-time!
i. i'm not dead, but uni is actively trying to destroy me. i'm being forced to write two essays a week, to learn german verbs at an inhuman pace, and to identify rocks (OMG I DON'T EVEN CARE. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD COULD GET ME TO CARE) on no food and no sleep. aside: i'm eating ramen as i type, lol. i barely even have the energy to complain. i will do cartwheels when this semester ends. while holding sparklers. OR WHATEVER.
ii. i'm older, now; i had my birthday last week. i got lovely things, most of them not befitting of my age. my parents are awesome and bought me a nineteen-flower gerbera daisy bouquet and my aunt bought me an architecture lego set of the brandenburg bridge (and some waterproof maps of berlin and the german-speaking countries. she knows me well). i also got season tickets to the theatre and amazon credit (which, yes. I WANT ALL THE CREDIT) and i got tipsy on a monday. and a thursday. so, it was good.
iii. ooh! re: those maps. i got accepted into the german-language program i applied for. i'll be going to small-city germany for six weeks at the beginning of spring. cue the anxiety.
iv. i've decided to do nanowrimo again this year, but with a few changes (obviously. school is making me slightly crazy). i'm hoping to write about 15,000 words over the course of the month. i've been sitting on a bunch of fic ideas that i've been too lazy/too tired to work on. i have them, REALLY. it's just. napping on the couch with the champions league as background noise is much, much easier. and, to cement the problem: i've also signed up for cornerflag and picked the hardest possible pairing for the theme because, apparently, i want to do more than just challenge myself. like, i think i'm actually trying to sabotage myself at this point. no big deal. ps my nano handle is blondes.
v. ARSENAL. i got up reeeeeally early in the morning on saturday to watch the chelsea match and oh. my. god. there was just so much goal celebration-joy. (gif-name samples: neckkisses!.gif; evenmoreneckkisses!.gif; whyisaaronjuststandingthere.gif.) and, if that wasn't enough, they've been really freaking adorable on twitter. like, OUR CAPTAINS GO ON SUSHI DATES; there's been excessive use of the #rvp and #captainvantastic hash-tags; jack and woj discuss the x-factor. i die.
