I guess I don't count as "everybody else"

Mom came over this afternoon to take me out to lunch and shopping and excitedly said, "It's a girl!" I knew she was referring to Bill and Kelly's (yet to be born) baby. I told her I knew that already....not because they had told me, but because I had read about it on Facebook. My cousin, David, had wished Kelly a happy birthday a few days ago and added "Congrats on the girl news". Apparently they had told my mom and Mom told David and my aunts cuz she saw them the other weekend. Mom thought they had told me because when she had talked to Bill on the phone about it, he said that they were going to call "Katie and everybody else." (Katie is Kelly's sister). I guess I'm not important enough not to be told this. Whatever.

Mom and I went out to eat at this restaurant called Taxi's. Mom said a couple of her friend had raved about it to her and said it was a lot like Jam's (a restaurant we often frequent) and just as good. Well, when we got there, the atmosphere wasn't as fun as Jam's and Mom noted the average age of the clientele was 80 and that she felt young, ha! I had a turkey and bacon grilled sandwich and french fries which weren't bad. Mom had crab cakes and she said hers were really salty and it was all mostly bread. The service was really slow too, but I think that's because there was only one waitress and the place was probably about half full. Mom said (not very loudly), "I wonder where our waitress is; I'm about ready to walk out!" and then a few seconds later our waitress came over and apologized and took Mom's Visa. Mom was worried that her voice carried, but I don't think she heard her because she was wiping down the bar area...she wasn't right next to our table or anything...but who knows....maybe she did hear my mom!

We went shopping because I needed new shoes, but we couldn't find anything. I did see some really cute ballet flats at Banana Republic in fun colors like yellow, orange, and blue, but they didn't fit because my damn feet are so damn narrow! I saw a couple cute dresses there and at Black House, White Market to keep in mind for my cousin's wedding this summer.

After Mom left, I l went to Target because I needed toilet paper and other stuff and I while I was there, I ran into Lee and Irish, a couple who live at HP. They're very nice and independent and really don't come down to dinner that much. I heard someone say my name while I was looking for TP and when I looked up, it was them! It was kinda a shock because I never see residents outside of HP...but Target is only down the block.
