I did this last year... Sadly enough it's still on my most recent 20 posts too because I just haven't been putting up the journal entries that I used to :-p Almost all of the wishes that I had last year came true at some point, but the others were dependent upon others and I don't really know if htye came out right or not :-p Without further ado, though, here's my holiday list.
Step One
-- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related to really big real life things.
-- Make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
-- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
-- Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
-- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy.
-- There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
I want for pretty much nothing this year... the physical aspect doesn't seem as important to me. I just want others to be happy.
1. Spend time with the person's family that I love and enjoy it.
2. Catch up with the people who've been lost to me from Maine.
3. Instant snow to scare Californians with :-p
4. Having a relaxed flight to California... Even though it's like 7 hours I'm just hoping my ears don't pop or my jaw hurts.
5. The looks of estactic joy from the people I bought presents for.
6. A safe ride for all those people, whom I hold dear, travelling great distances for the holidays.
7. An old friend lost to time finding me again.
8. A gift or two that isn't expensive, but really shows that my friends almost killed their brain getting it for me.
9. A new pet, whether it be something fluffy or something scaley, as long as it's cuddlable... And no, you can't cuddle a plant... I know... :-p
10. My great boyfriend with our three month anniversary and unlimited cuddle time.
My contact information... If you can't get me on a messenger or something like that... There's always the E-mail or my phone, or something like that in which there's to contact me... As the things happen I'll put a strike through them, but like last year I'm sure some of them will kinda not happen, but oh well.
