My weekend with the little man

I feel like I'm either whining about my life/job, or gushing annoyingly about Scott via these posts, so this will probably be a welcome change, lol.

Thursday we went to see Santa in Long Grove. This guy was amazing! He was 6 ft 6, 400 lbs and laughed just like I imagine Santa should laugh. N didn't seem as excited as I was, but he seemed to enjoy himself.

I spent a great weekend with N! Yesterday we went to St. Matthew's Breakfast with Santa. We had a nice breakfast, he got to give his list to Santa and play with his friends. His best friends mom just had their fifth child. Yikes, I know. The baby is adorable though and I got to hold him for a few minutes while talking with Jen and Chris. They are amazing people, and are so laid back even with five kids to manage! I dropped N off at mom's and went to get my hair done then picked him back up for grocery shopping. We put together a Christmas package to send overseas to Mikie. N was very cute and excited about the whole process from drawing a picture, to getting the forms together at the post office. We came home and had a nice dinner and watched a movie.

Today we walked to church, went to Subway for lunch, went boot shopping for him (definitely needed with snow just around the corner), and then went to the Candy Cane Hunt in downtown Lake Zurich. It was hysterical to watch all the kids scrambling for candy canes, and N was just bursting with excitement over all the holiday things we've been doing! We came back home relaxed a bit and then dad came by for dinner. Dad and I had a chance to talk while N was playing with his legos (kiellt, this really is the gift that keeps on giving!). We'll read a few Christmas books after he gets out of the shower and off to bed for him.

I really sometimes get caught up in the routine and forget to enjoy the little moments. This was a great weekend of little moments.
