As some of you know, I've been in Miami the past week. This blog mainly centers around the trip and my plans for the future.
So, as far as the trip, it was wonderful. I got to spend some time, with some great friends, that unfortunately I don't get to see that often. It was also great fun. In the time I was down there we did alot of hanging out, we also went to see two movies and a concert. So, here's the details.
I was so happy to see Meng, Rossy, And Josh again, as I don't get to see them that often these days, and I missed them terribly. There was good times and inhibriation to be had by all. Most of it, though no less significant, was the usual hanging out and going to dinner type stuff. We also went to see Borat, which was as hilarious as one would expect, though incredibly wrong. Alot of it was the typical Borat type of comedy, though there were a few parts that go far beyond anything he ever did on the show. I won't spoil anything, but should mature audiences enjoy his comedy, it's definitely worth seeing.
We also went to see Saw 3, as Meng hadn't seen it yet, and I certainly didn't mind seeing it again. It's an excellent movie, if you were a fan of the first two you should definitely go see it.
Another event worth explaining in detail was the aberdeen city/rasputina concert. It was held at Studio A in Miami's downtown entertainment district, which despite it's rather unpleasant location, is a very nice venue. For those of you who have not been to Miami's downtown Entertainment district, during the day/evening it's basically a series of alley's hosting large normal warehouse looking buildings. At first site it looks fairly poor and that assertion is accentuated by the numerous homeless people running around there. After dark, it doesn't even look like the same place. Thousands of people some in custom made hummers/corvettes, etc, crowd the streets. The alleyways light up, and baricades and carpets can be seen, with bouncers gaurding them. A few miles away huge arena's and opera houses can be seen.
Anyway, the club it was held in Studio A, was fairly decent, it was comfortable and spacious, and was run really well. Though the music was kind of lame and as one might expect it made holding a conversation rather difficult.:P
http://www.myspace.com/aberdeencity The first band that went on. Not exactly my cup of tea, but for their genre of music they did a great job. They were each very good performers and put on a great live show. My only complaint would be that they don't utilize their second guitarist enough. His on stage antics, tend to help with that though, and the bands interactions together. The drummer was good, though the songs he was playing didn't seem particularly hard for the most part. His set was amazing though. I got sidetracked and was unable to see what he was playing but it's definitely the best sounding drum set I've heard in a long while.
http://www.myspace.com/rasputina Needs no introduction. They're amazing. And they're all extremely good performers. Even Jonathan Tebeest who I imagined to be average as far as professional drummers though. I actually think he did an exceptional job, though his set didn't sound as good as the other drummers set did. Melora was emmaculate. Amazing. As some of you may know the other cellist that was with the band is no longer with them, filling in for her was Sarah Bowman.
http://www.myspace.com/sarahbowman http://www.myspace.com/thebowmans Who did a wonderful job filling in for Zoe. It was like she'd been with the band all along.
Hmm. Meng also bought me a movie, Me, Myself, and Irene, which is a great movie for those who have not seen it. It's a comedy, I highly recommend watching it..
As for me, I have further news of sorts...
I'm going to be making many changes in my life. Small changes, that will allow for major changes later. I'm going to be playing WoW alot less. I'm going to be exercising, studying and driving on a daily basis. I'll be watching what I eat, and keeping record of everything I do eat. I'll also have a daily to do list on this list will be normal day to day things i do anyway showere brush my teeth that sort of thing, as well as set amounts of exercise/studying I'd like to get in, as well, as other things that will likely change day to day. The idea is to get into a routine that will overall help me better every aspect of myself. Once I've accomplished these things, or the time I've allotted for things like WoW is reached I'll use that time/whatever time is left to play WoW. I'll still raid 3 days a week, but I doubt I'll play much at any other time.
Anyway, I guess that's all for now.
More later.
