things you cant put on your medical record

I was commenting to a doctor friend that the pain-killer Vicodin does absolutely nothing for me. My own doc prescribed me a bottle of the stuff for the pinched nerve in my neck and I warned him at the time that I recalled that one of the common pain killers (I thought I might recall it being Vicodin) did nothing to alleviate pain for me and instead kept me up all night with unsettled, half-awake dreams. Well, I was right in my recollection, and last night totally sucked.

I wanted to make sure that in the future this fact was put on my medical records, so that I wouldn't get stuck with this ineffective (for me) drug again, but my friend the doc said that if I put anything like this on my medical record I was likely to get flagged as a "drug seeker"- some kind of addict hoping to score more powerful narcotics. I know this guy isn't pulling my leg, he really thinks this is the case, and he's likely to know. Bother- how the heck do I get around this perception that anyone who mentions that Vicodin doesn't work for them is a druggie?
