Blanche Deveraux had always had a plan for her life, but she'd learned early on as a child that plans sometimes had to be changed. Big Daddy had taught her that when he'd talked of her marrying a rich husband who would treat her well; she'd realized then that she could not simply live with her father caring for her forever. George had been a perfect match in wealth, prestige, and love. She'd thought they'd grow old together, but Fate had changed that, too.
For a long time, marriage did not even enter Blanche's thoughts after she buried the only man she believed she'd ever love. Oh, she dated men like crazy -- her cherished George's cold body wasn't even in the ground yet when she kissed another man --, but her heart belonged to only him until the day she finally succumbed to the economy and accepted two roommates.
Still, she didn't think she'd marry again, and when she finally came to think so, she believed it would only be for money. Yet, somewhere along the way, Blanche fell in love with one of her room mates and dating men became increasingly less important. Then the day arrived when gay marriage was legalized in their state, and Dorothy turned to her, took her hands in hers, and asked her point blank, "Do you want to marry me?"
All of her Blanche's remaining plans went out the window. Her heart sang with her answer exploding from her lips, "Yes!", sealed by kiss.
