Evony has never had to wait for anything--the Morrigan waits for no one and nothing, after all. Not sex, not drugs, not money, not talent to suck dry from yet another human. And yet, there is Bo. Fascinating and different and just hot enough to set Evony's mind on several flights of fancy. So young, though, so lost in a world she doesn't understand--and yet, something old seems to shine from her eyes at the oddest moments.
And while it was an idea that almost appealed, it sounded cliche and too-human to think of herself as Bo's mentor, someone to lead her along the path to whom she could become. Besides, there also would be work involved, and Evony has worked for too much in her life to waste her energies on a young succubus too arrogant to see a good thing when it's in front of her eyes.
So she takes the long view. She waits upon someone else's pleasure. She watches--she has Ryan seduce the succubus and return a report on her emotional state. She plans.
There is more than one way to turn an unaligned Fae to the Dark.
The end of the world might come, but somehow, Evony doubts that. Humanity hasn't managed it yet. Why should the garuda be any better at it? And even if it is, there's nothing to say that Evony and hers won't survive.
Bo certainly will, and Evony suspects the waiting might almost be worth it.
