The planetoid's distance from sol coupled with the short two hour rotation which comprised it's "day" caused the sun to cast a feeble glow over the barren landscape.
Lambert and Ripley stood at a porthole of the ship preferring the bleak view of the planet's surface to the blank instruments of their consoles.
Ripley ran her fingers along the back of Lambert's hand, feeling the warm softness. The navigator turned to her, the lost expression in her eyes changing, clearing. As they came together the red corona of the sun outlined their heads like a halo.
