In the midst of battle, Chris had to focus on the whirl of action moving constantly around her. If she let her mind wander, an enemy could take advantage of the moment to break through her guard. She could enjoy a few more sideways glances when she had her fellow knights at her side, sure in the knowledge that they would move in an instant to reinforce her position. Being away from them reminded her how much she depended on their strength. She couldn't place the same trust in Nash, and the archers of Alma Kinan were depending on her to keep the Harmonian ground troops a certain distance away so they could keep up their rounds of heavy fire.
Still, she couldn't help but notice the way that Yun, who couldn't even fire a bow or cast a spell, stood her ground to assist her sisters, binding their wounds and refilling their quivers. It was all the more impressive for her lack of previous experience on the battlefield. Her oracles were strange, and Chris could not entirely trust them, but this- this courage was something she could understand and admire.
Later she asked the girl, quiet and careful, "Weren't you afraid out there under enemy fire?"
"Only a little," Yun answered. "I couldn't be that afraid with you protecting us, looking so brave."
