Thought I was the Honest One
I tell Maya it was cancer.
I died of cancer.
If I told the truth (that I died as a sacrifice to a fallen angel) she just might want to know what happened next. Then eventually it would come out that she died because I picked her, as the one I wanted to be with. That she died because of me.
If she knew, she’d leave me. Like Cassie did.
Cassie.
When Cassie was about, I thought that I was the honest one, the one who could face the truth.
When did I become such a liar?
Not just lying to Maya, lying to Ella as well. Handing her over to Maluchi, convincing myself that she can handle it. Spreading a demon’s lies so he’ll keep my secret and I can keep my own sweet girl.
