Kara's too strong; her weakness terrifies Kristin. This isn't right. Kara's the former football player, the passionate, vocal, emotional leader who jumps on tables, a heartless gunner with a deadly three.
Kristin wants to believe that this isn't Kara who leaves practice and then can't even go to the gym, instead lying in bed, beige against the sheets, her eyes glazed over. But then she has to believe it isn't Kara who falls asleep trustingly in her arms or against her shoulder, that this isn't Kara who relies on her and needs her, and she's not strong enough for that.
