“What?” Trini asks, noticing Kimberly staring at their zords.
“Have you ever noticed how strange it is?”
“The whole using alien technology and being chosen by aliens to save our world gig?”
“Well, that is strange,” Kim agrees with a small grin chasing across the mouth Trini so loves to kiss, “but what I was really thinking about is our zords. I mean, we’re a tiger and a pterodactyl, cat and a bird. Don’t you think sabertooth tigers ate pterodactyls?”
“Probably,” Trini agrees, seeing movement behind Kimberly.
“So it’s like we’re playing enemies but we’re really -- “
“Best friends,” Trini quickly interjects.
Kimberly frowns. “That wasn’t what I was going to say.” She had been thinking more along the lines of soulmates, or at least girlfriends. Their relationship went so far beyond friendship. “I do things with you I wouldn’t do with any other best friend.”
“Really?” Zack asks. “Like what?”
“Like saving the world,” Trini swiftly answers, grabbing Kimberly’s hand.
Billy frowns. “That wasn’t what she was about to say.”
“No, but that’s the only answer you guys are getting,” Trini says firmly. She flashes them all a wide grin before beginning to pull Kimberly toward their zords. “Ready to save the world?” she calls.
“Ready!” Jason answers. “And it’s cool!” Billy and Zack look at him funny, but he just grins and heads for his own Tyrannosaurus Rex. Kimberly and Trini’s secrets are their own, but he’ll always support his friends, especially when loving one another brings them happiness.
