It was all right, Satsuki had thought at the time. Let Ryuko hate her. Let Ryuko challenge her and swing her blade at her. Let her think it was Lady Satsuki herself who had killed that old man.
Let them think that Satsuki would destroy her.
But, no, all the while she would steadily and subtly lure this novice in to be trained properly and turned into a deadly weapon to use against her mother.
It was perfect. The timing couldn't have been more perfect for this girl to show herself, seeking revenge.
With only months before Satsuki's plan would unravel itself with dire repercussions.
But, Satsuki knew with certainty she would prevail in the end. She not would not turn her back and be coward. If she did, then these thirteen years of plotting would have been for nothing.
This Ryuko, however irritating, and tempting to cut down, would prove to be a very useful tool for her cause.
