Summary: Unexpected tenderness, at least that's what Katie thinks of it.
Today's practice session had been brutal, not to mention gruesome. After they had finished, everyone was soaked to the bone from the rain, and covered in patches of mud.
As if the Slytherin's chanting hadn't been distracting enough, the wind seemed determined to knock her off her broomstick. She almost did at one point.
Katie was convinced that Angelina was some sort of maniac, making them go through a whole session in that blasted storm--
"Katie, come here for a moment," a voice calls to her. Speak of the devil, Katie thought with a sigh.
Angelina was standing farther back in the room, standing upright, as if her water logged clothes weren't weighing her down at all. Katie wondered if she were made of stone. Her heart, at least, seemed to be.
Katie, walked steadily over to her, trying her best to ignore her wet, bunched up knickers. It was quite difficult.
"What is it, Angelina?" she asks, trying to mask the weariness in her voice.
Whatever Katie had been expecting, it wasn't Angelina putting her hand on her shoulder, and saying to her in low tones, "You look beat. You need to get some rest, Katie."
Katie was a bit shocked. She'd been expecting Angelina to lecture her about her flying. Or anything but this. She's not even sure if Angelina has ever touched her purposely before.
"Yeah, but--"
"No, you look exhausted," she cuts in, "we all are. So go." Without another word, she turns away from her.
