Dear yuletide author…
First off, let me just say you are awesome and I am so glad you're going to be writing for me. We must share love for at least one of these fandoms, so I'll just flail at you now, okay?
All right. So. As far as writing for me…if you look at my journal you'll see I'm primarily a slasher. You may or may not be, so please don't feel as if you have to slash anyone. I'm also quite fond of het fic (one of my requests is for het, actually), and I'm perfectly okay with friendship fic. As far as ratings go, I'll be thrilled with anything, G to NC-17. Some things I love are snark, kissing (I'm a sucker for a good, desperate kiss even more than sex), happy/hopeful endings, plot, hurt/comfort, kids, domesticity, semi-public sex, awkward first times, humor, flangst (again, with a happy/hopeful ending), and friends suddenly realizing they've fallen for each other. I adore strong women characters who aren't just two-dimensional background. I enjoy well-written OCs. I love fics that explore the psychology of characters...what makes them who they are. Things that I'd prefer to avoid: bodily fluids not normally found in sex, chan, non-con/dub-con/incest, major character death (offing secondary characters is fine), character bashing, BDSM, excessive humiliation/embarrassment.
Oh, and for the TV shows currently in production that I've requested, please don't worry about being Jossed by anything; I know it's hard to write along with a show that's currently airing. I can promise you I will LOVE what you come up with.
Rev. - I would be thrilled with anything in this fandom, but I'd really love to see Adam having to deal with Nigel or the Archdeacon in some (exasperated) manner. Bonus points for throwing in the Bishop of London as well. I love the Adam/Alex relationship, so I'd prefer nothing relationshippy with Adam outside his marriage, but go wild with any of the others. Slash, het, what-have-you.
Chronicles of Prydain (Lloyd Alexander) - Anything that tackles what Eilonwy and Taran's life would be like after the end of The High King would be lovely.
Spooks/MI-5 - Obviously pre-season 10, woe, but I'd love something with Tariq and Dimitri both in and outside of work. Slash would be lovely, whether explicit or through the proverbial goggles, but I'd enjoy a friendship fic as well. Also, I'm terribly, terribly, terribly fond of Lucas North. So I'm also quite okay with Tariq and Lucas or Dimitri and Lucas. And Harry and Ruth are also dear to me. If you'd like to get really old school, I miss Zaf something fierce, and would love to see him again. I shipped Zaf/Adam back then, but again, no need to write slash unless you'd like to.
And should you happen to be a fan of either Thick of It or Party Animals, I wouldn't mind at all any of the political characters from those shows making an appearance. :D
Once Upon A Time - Oh, wow, how much do I love this show? If you pick this, oh lovely author, one of the things that fascinates me about the show is the family dynamic between Emma, Henry, and Snow/Mary Margaret. I would love something with the three of them. Does Mary Margaret find out about Emma and Henry's relationship to her? Does she remember something from her past? Is there a confrontation between her and Regina?
Also, I'm curious as to what exactly occurred between Snow and the Evil Queen to make them hate each other so much. Surely it was more than just the old tale of who's prettier. Feel free to speculate, if you'd like. :)
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you and please don't feel as if you have to write any of these at all...if you have an amazing idea that you love, please, please write it. I want this to be as fun for you as possible. And I can't wait to read what you come up with. \0/
