Like arguing with a dining room table

It should not be 80 degrees Farenheit at almost midnight, I'm just saying. Stupid heat. >:(

Still writing my Snarry Games fic. I suck at deadlines. Seriously. Suck. Suck, suck, suck, suck, suck. Also, this fic will never end and I will cry. *stabs* I may cry anyway. I'm coaxing myself through it by letting myself watch Mad Men episodes from the first season every night that I hit my word count goal. So far I think Pete's my favourite character--which Dragon has informed me is so not surprising since according to her he's the Draco Malfoy of the Mad Men universe, and yes, I do have a type, she points out. I maintain that I'm only three episodes in, dammit, so it's unfair to make that claim.

In other news, I have the best Congressman EVER. \0/ Dear Barney Frank, I kind of massively heart you for this. Godwin's Law, invoked in politics. \0/ \0/

Also in regards to the healthcare debate, I am absolutely livid at the possibility of the public option being taken off the table. I'm a rabid single-payer system supporter as it is and have been since this issue first came up in the 90s when Hillary took it on (and won my undying love and devotion ever after, thank you very much), so even the public option with private reform is a compromise for me. Sigh. And yes, I've already sent off emails to my Senators and to the White House bitching about this.

I'm going to end up having a coronary by the time healthcare is settled. (Or not settled, as the case may be.) Every time I read some of the crap that's floating around out there, my blood pressure goes up again and I have the distinct urge to punch something. Hard. This, along with gay rights, is one of the few political issues that gets me really riled up because I believe with all my heart that the private health insurance industry in this country is morally reprehensible and corrupt. And to be honest I'm becoming a bit disillusioned by some Democrats at the moment, and that makes me really sad. :(

But hey, Hillary rocks as Secretary of State, which makes me freaking happy. \0/

Anyway. Back to writing. Le sigh.
