Lesson for this & last week: slow work = Charlotte is bad & shops online.  I've now made purchases from Forever 21, Amazon, and eBay... though admittedly, the Amazon one started with finding a birthday present for Glen.  Oopsie.

Hard to believe, but this is my final week as an import / sourcing person at Target.  After a process that started last June (first "info meeting" about MPD), I am starting as a SALARIED analyst on the 6th floor... already have a desk, phone #, and mentor assigned, and meetings are popping up on my calendar right and left.  I feel like I should say something deep and profound about my last 3 1/2 years of work and improvements--but I just hope that this next job is interesting, rewarding, and enjoyable.  I have mixed feelings about Target in general.  On the one hand, the company is so big & strong in its culture that I feel like I've had to tailor every action and interaction to fit in, ultimately so I can get good reviews and succeed.  But I also have to admit that working here has improved a lot of my skills--I'm better at meeting new people and interacting in large groups, and I'm tougher in general when it comes to challenges or negative feedback.

Ultimately, I want Glen or myself to get a different job, so we can live relatively close to where we each work.  But as Jessie has told me, that's something that can be settled after a few years of being married--it doesn't have to be right away.  My hope is that we can work on that once the economy improves and more jobs become available.

One other recent improvement: I've actually been getting more sleep the last couple of nights.  I have done my best to get ready for bed at 10 or 10:30, so I can be in bed at 11 and get 7 hours of sleep.  It feels so nice to be more rested that I want to keep it up!
