The day the bullet penetrated…
Inara had seen Nandi die in her place time and time again. Now she dreaded seeing Kaylee die the same sort of death. Time and time again she had seen the same bullet penetrate Kaylee’s body, each and every time waking up in a cold sweat.
Kaylee had taken to watching Inara sleep, knowing the pain of the dream had to have penetrated Inara’s already wounded soul. She hated seeing Inara in any pain or worried state and had taken great chances to try and soothe her.
