Wounded
Firefly. Zoe/Any F. Wounded. Zoe/Inara.
“Why must you always come home wounded?”
The last fight that Zoe had been involved in had lead to her coming home wounded yet again. This time she was sporting a broken wrist and hand.
Inara was awaiting her as usual and made a point of doing what she could to heal Zoe’s hand herself, gently wrapping it in a cast before using a scarf of pure silk to cradle it in.
“Why must you always come home wounded Zoe?”
“It’s not exactly by choice.”
“I know that Zoe but you must know I worry about you?”
“Of course I do.”
“Please try to be more careful next time if you must go into a fight…”
“I will. I promise.”
“Good.” Inara murmured softly. “I hate seeing you hurt.”
