Today my sister and I went to yoga as per our usual on Sundays. The yoga studio has 2 rooms - one is a beginner, the other intermediate. Now, I've been doing yoga for 10 years now so I consider my knowledge to be at an intermediate level. These last few years, I've been trying to go to yoga classes 3x a week so my body was strong and flexible (like an intermediate level). But since moving to the new city, yoga is more expensive. And affordable yoga pretty much sucks in terms of what I'm looking for so I'm out of shape and practice. Anyway, Sundays are the
yoga studio days. The studio is beautiful. And the intermediate classes are held in the hot room, which is heated at about 85+ degrees celsius.
I knew when I got up it was going to be a bad yoga day because my body felt really tired. I didn't sleep well; I'm getting over a cold, but afraid that I'm catching a new one because my throat is sore again. One key to yoga, for me, is to have my body feel strong. Flexibility is no problem for me, but strength is difficult so when I feel strong, it's going to be a good practice.
Today not so good. I felt weak, my body was shaking more than usual, I lost concentration (and therefore balance) a number of times, felt uncoordinated. Uggh. One key yoga principle is honouring where your body is at on that particular day but I was so frustrated with myself. I need to get healthy now so I can get back in yoga shape again.
