Great tutorial moment
There was a great moment in tutorial this week (I TA for a general 'women & society' survey course; all women tutorial group). We couldn't get the sound to work in my room and the group presenting needed sound. I called and left a message with the tech people. In the interim, we got it working. Anyway, the guy showed up and one group member said: "we got it working already... because we're women and we can". It's so rare to hear expressions of empowerment in the class since they seem so apathetic. Interested, but apathetic.
