whew x 2 + more work
I think thanks to Spybot freeware (thus thanks to mastroscara, blue_braces, and leoshan) and patience with troubles restarting, the computer is now in good shape.
With it running again, I got all the electonic reserve readings for my 2 fall courses onto a CD-ROM, xeroxed supplemental stuff at the office, and turned that in. Within 2 weeks, I should have the courses ready as far as the students are concerned. Now I can work on the first 4 days of class before all the Grandpa stuff starts.
...and do my homework writing a presentation proposal for the bring-feministransguy-to-Tucson trans conference held in April.
BTW, the secretary loaned me 2 very small tables to serve as makeshift desks until my setup funds are released Sept. 1. Colleagues are laughing at the patheticness that is my office, but what can ya do? If the monitor makes its way back to my office from wherever it went, at least I could have all the necessary components for an office computer together.
