A victory and a victory celebration

I WON! THEY CAVED AND ARE ALLOWING MY MY ORIGINAL DISSERTATION COMMITTEE! WORK CAN NOW PROGRESS! (and what a lot of work it is,too...)

Friday was fantastic. Went to see the Pearl Theatre's Hamlet (http://www.pearltheatre.org/). Truly amazing production...and I've seen a lot of attempts at Hamlet. Got a little star-struck as all the actors were passing by me while waiting outside at the end of the play for Robindra. He and I went out for excellent beer at a place called Burp Garden, then had late-night Polish food (Robindra has unerring foodie-dar; he has never picked a disappointing place to eat in all the time I have known him. It's a weird skill but an incredibly useful one if you're hanging out with him). Though the construction on the subway entailed a 3-hour ride home, punctuated by sketchy waits in near-deserted train stations, the night was worth it overall. Next time I'm out that late I'll just budget for a car service to take me to Queens...I am so fortunate nothing criminal happened on my way back home (btw, reached "home" at 5:58 a.m.).

So yeah. That's about all the excitement in my life right now. Way, way behind on schoolwork...will write more when (if) I ever get caught up
